GRB Status
The GOES-R series GOES Rebroadcast (GRB) provides the primary relay of full resolution, calibrated, near-real-time direct
broadcast Level 1b data from ABI,
SEISS, EXIS,
SUVI, and MAG
and Level 2 data from the GLM. The GOES-16 and GOES-18 are posted on the OSPO GOES Operational Status.

Data Release Strategy
INTERNAL flow of instrument data: Commences upon completion of each instrument’s outgassing
- Data will flow for path integrity test purposes to PDA and AWIPS
- Data will flow for instrument vendor and Calibration Working Group (CWG) Cal/Val purposes to Level Zero Storage Solution (LZSS) at Wallops CDAS
- Data will not be released from PDA, AWIPS (SBN) to any downstream consumers other than instrument vendors, CWG, and CLASS. The Unique Payload Services (GRB, HRIT/EMWIN, DCS) will also not yet distribute data
BEGINNING of EXTERNAL product distribution (PD): Commences by product upon attainment of Beta Maturity
- GRB will be populated
- PDA, AWIPS (SBN) will flow data to their respective, integrated, downstream Cal/Val and I&T consumers
- PDA will not yet serve non-Cal/Val and non-I&T subscription holders
- Unique Payload Service Distribution [HRIT/EMWIN and GNC-A] will not yet distribute GOES-S
COMPLETION of EXTERNAL product distribution (PD): Completed by product upon attainment of Provisional Maturity
- GRB will be populated
- PDA, AWIPS (SBN) will flow data to their respective, integrated, downstream Cal/Val and I&T consumers
- PDA will not yet serve non-Cal/Val and non-I&T subscription holders
- Unique Payload Service Distribution [HRIT/EMWIN and GNC-A] will not yet distribute GOES-S
