NOAA-17 HRPT Transmitter Power > =============================== The NESDIS SOCC is investigating a output power drop on NOAA-17 STX-3 transmitter (1707.0 MHz). Power dropped from 8 watts to 2.48 watts at approximately 0835 UTC, 28 April 2003. NOAA is investigating and will update as more information becomes available. Users who detect a change in NOAA-17 HRPT reception should send a detailed reception report including pass time, your location and antenna size to satinfo@noaa.gov ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE 1: The STX-3 (1707.0 MHz) transmitter power is holding steady at 2.48 watts. This condition is expected to continue. As applicable, users should increase their gain and adjust dish alignment and tracking to improve HRPT image reception.
