NOAA-15 APT to be transmitted during conflict with NOAA-12 until December 7, 2003 ================================================================== UPDATE: NOAA12 APT will be turned ON this Sunday, December 07, at 0312z on rev 65275/F. NOAA 12 APT will resume transmission on 137.50 MHz as usual. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because on an RF conflict with N15, N12 VTX-1 will be turned off between 3 Nov 20:30 Z and 7 Dec 03. Originally, N15 VTX-1 was to be turned off but this has changed because of concern about turning off the N15 VTX transmitter. (The N15 VTX transmitter is the same as the one on N16 which failed after the first time it was turned off in Oct of 2000. Engineering is investigating the implications of this anomaly as it pertains to N15. However, to stay on the safe side engineering has decided not to turn off N15 VTX-1 for the duration of this RF conflict and until a satisfactory conclusion regarding the implications of turning off N15 can be determined.) The current RF conflict with NOAA-12 will end on December 7 at 0100 UTC at which time the NOAA-12 VTX-1 (for APT data) will be commanded ON. During this period, APT will be transmitted from NOAA-15 on 137.50 MHz as usual. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted to NOAASIS at 2000 UTC on 31 October 2003, Update 02 December 2003 at 1900 UTC
