GOES-12 Lunar Shadow Operation 1 May 2003 >

On 1 May 2003, GOES-12 will experience a lunar shadow (similar to eclipse).
Routine imaging and sounding will resume on 2 May 2003 at 0145 UTC.

Modified Operation Schedule starts at 2301 UTC on 1 May 2003
------------------------------------------------------------

 - Routine imaging through 1 May, 2301 UTC; routine soundings through 2319 UTC.

 - The CONUS scan at 2302 UTC and the Southern Hemisphere scan at 2309
UTC will be canceled.

 - A Northern Hemisphere scan will take place at 2315 UTC in place of a
Northern Hemisphere extended scan.

 - ***No imager operations from 1 May, 2324 UTC to 2 May, 0144 UTC***

 - ***No sounder operations from 1 May, 2320 UTC to 2 May, 0145 UTC***

 - GOES-10 will provide Full Disk support 1 May, 2300 UTC to 2 May, 0159 UTC.
