We must switch to the new system no later than December 16. In an effort to ensure that user services are not disrupted, NOAA plans to send out test messages in parallel to operational messasges beginning tomorrow, December 10. Current operational messages will be discontinued on December 16, 2003. Also, at that time the bulletin will be sent out once per day around 0500 local or 1000 UTC rather than twice a day (1000 UTC and 1850 UTC). If you know of a reason why the second distribution should continue, please let us know immediately. Current bulletins are distributed with a header "TBUSxx KWBC" where "xx" is 01, 02, ... or 06 identifying the satellite. The new header is "TBUSxx KNES". Once you've modified your system to accept the new header, you will find that the messages are identical to the current operations. Please contact us immediately if you discover any problems with the new bulletin. Please pass this message on to other directreadout data users who may not have received it.
