Update: 28 July 2004 NOAA-12 Status and restoration plans Satellite(s) Involved: NOAA-12 Instrument(s) Involved: AVHRR,SEM Product(s) Involved/Affected: All Products using NOAA-12 AVHRR, and SEM instruments Date/Time(UTC) of Initial Implementation: Mid afternoon 28 July 2004 Details/Specifics of Change: NOAA-12 is still be monitored with no reoccurrence of problems or other anomalies since the problem began. Analysis of the data shows the loads being levied currently on the power system are being maintained and voltages and currents are more than adequate to operate the satellite. At approximately 4 pm (EST) today the solar array bias will be moved from -60 to -50 degrees. If all goes as expected, recovery operations should begin mid afternoon on 28 July (Wed) to turn the AVHRR back on line. The satellite will enter a period of analysis following the AVHRR turn on and if all indications from telemetry are nominal, the SEM will be place back on line 29 July. Completion of all payload turn on operations should be accomplished on 29 July. Contact Person(s) Name/Email/Phone Number for Questions: Cecil A.
